Korthoff Preston Motorsports (KPM) is a performance-driven racing organization, fielding the No. 32 Customer Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship. Incorporated in 2022, KPM has earned 2 podium finishes in its inaugural season, including a 3rd place finish in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona and 2nd place finish in the 12 Hours of Sebring; Finishing the 2022 season 3rd in the GTD Championship. Its 2023 lineup includes seasoned drivers Mike Skeen and Mikael Grenier.

Mik Grenier, Driver, KPM

Mikael Grenier
Driver

Mikael Grenier is a Canadian driver with over a decade of experience in the sport, competing in various touring car and sportscar categories. Grenier began his racing career in karting, before moving up to open-wheel cars in the Formula BMW Americas Series. He later transitioned to touring cars and sports cars, competing in series such as the DTM in Europe, SPA 24 Hours in Belgium and GT World Challenge Europe, as well as the Asian Le Mans Series. The last two seasons Grenier competed in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 At Daytona, where he finished 2nd place with SunEnergy1 in 2021.

mike Skeen
Driver

Mike Skeen is an American driver with over a decade of experience in the sport. He has competed in a variety of racing series, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the Pirelli World Challenge and the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Skeen has had numerous successes throughout his racing career, including winning the Pirelli World Challenge GT Class Championship and finishing on the podium at the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona endurance race. In addition to his racing career, Skeen is also a successful racing instructor, helping to mentor and train aspiring race car drivers. In the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Skeen finished 9th in the Driver Standings with 2,577 points. Team Owner, Herb Korthoff and Skeen have worked together continuously for several years, starting with LMP3.

Between 1979 and present day, Herb Korthoff has not only held high ranking positions across multiple fields, but is also a successful entrepreneur and businessman. As EVP Operations with United States Surgical Corporation, Herb personally granted approximately 30 medical device design patents and was instrumental in the development of a bone space filler with a growth simulator as President and Chairman of the Board at Wright Medical, which was sold and ultimately listed on NASDQ. During his time living in South Africa, he developed two vineyards and wine brands in the wine growing region and developed a 15,000 acre Game Reserve with 35 species of Plains game, from what was a sheep station on the Escarpment of Eastern Cape Province. During this time, he also built a 750 unit self-storage facility in Capetown. Herb eventually sold his wineries and kept the Game Reserve and self-storage facility. Herb currently resides in Wyoming and is engaged in property buying and selling equities trading, deep sea fishing, race cars, big game hunting, fly fishing and reading classics.


Walter (walt) preston
Team Manager

Highly experienced in the motorsports field, Walter Preston has held numerous motorsports positions for more than 50 years. In addition to his numerous team roles, he is owner of Preston Consulting, Inc. which provides engineering, design and fabrication services to teams from club racers to Winston Cup and IRL.

Preston has attained a long list of accomplishments, throughout his carrer. At the top of the highlights are his aero and chassis consulting for Shelby Super Cars, resulting in the Guinness World Record for the fastest production car at 256.18MPH average.

Most recently, prior to working with Team Korthoff Motorsports, Preston worked on the JDC Miller Racing Team. in 2017 the team won the Trueman Award, placed 2 podiums and had the 2 fastest race laps. In 2021, the team won the Sebring 24 Hour.

Since managing Team Korthoff Motorsports, Preston has quickly led the new team to success. In 2022, the team earned 2 podium finishes in its inaugural season, including a 3rd place finish in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona and 2nd place finish in the 12 Hours of Sebring; Finishing the 2022 season 3rd in the GTD Championship.

In 2023, only part way through the season, the team finished 3rd Place At The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Chevrolet Grand Prix Sprint Race And Also Again At Road America. These successes wouldn’t have happened without Preston at the helm, and in August 2023, the team was renamed Korthoff Preston Motorsports.
